The first hire
My first growth-marketing role was at Postmates, where I made $100K a year running Meta ads. I learned a lot but eventually left to start my own business—and quickly realized how hard and expensive it is to build a great team. I needed people who could think, strategize, lead, and execute from day one. The problem? I didn’t have $100K to pay them, so U.S. hires were out. That’s when I found Anna, a marketing generalist from the Philippines with the skill and experience I was looking for at a rate I could actually afford. She managed our email, organic social, and webinar coordination. She was the missing piece, and with her help we grew quickly and were eventually acquired.
The gap
As my business progressed, I kept hiring offshore marketing talent and was continuously blown away by their skill, communication, and ability to jump right in. But when I talked to other founders and marketing leads, I kept hearing the same story: offshore hiring never worked out. Most either overpaid for local talent or settled for someone too junior because of budget limits.
The reason we exist
GrowthPair was built to fix that. I've seen firsthand how much the right marketer can change a business, and I want to help companies find their own “Anna” without burning six figures on a single hire.
